From 1959 until it's network farewell in 1972, "Bonanza" was a ratings leader and favorite Sunday evening pastime for millions of television viewers. Life on the Ponderosa Ranch revolved around the widower, Ben Cartwright(Lorne Greene), and his three sons: Little Joe (Micheal Landon), "Hoss" (Dan Blocker), and Adam (Pernell Roberts). Set in Neveda in the 1850's, the Cartwrights were a family that worked, struggled and succeeded together, no matter what - or who -they were up against.

Day of Reckoning Synopsis:
The ugly side of prejudice casts a long shadow over the Ponderosa when Ben Cartwright befriends a Native American Indian. Ben's life is saved by Matsou (Ricardo Montalban)When an Indian saves Ben Cartwright's life from a near fatal, a member of the Bannock tribe, who, along with his wife, is searching for a peaceful way of life and a home to call their own. In gratitude for their good deed, Ben offers them a plot of land to teach them how to farm for themselves. When word of Ben's generosity reaches neighboring ranches, old hatreds create new enemies and feeling run high on all sides. Blood is spilling during a nighttime raid, and revenge seems the only answer. But an eye for an eye unfortunately means that people no longer see the real enemy - Prejudice itself.
