Synopsis:
The wacky antics of the Three Stooges continue and there's no limit to the fun. Not only do you get the pokes, jabs and slapstick physical comedy that are their trademark, you also get to enjoy some of the wittiest banter and plays on words in the history of comedy. The Three Stooges do as much damage to the American language as they do to their sets, co-stars and each other!

The Three Stooges got their start, literally speaking, in the early 1900s in Brooklyn, where they were born to the Horwitz family, whose five sons included these future knuckleheads. By 1909, twelve-year-old Moses (Moe) was performing bit parts in various films at the Vitagraph Studio, and by 1916 had teamed up with older brother Samuel (Shemp) to play vaudeville. At just nineteen and twenty years old, they were already living their dream of a career in show business. It was in vaudeville that Moe and Shemp hooked up with Louis Feinberg (Larry Fine) - considered the original third Stooge - and backed up Ted Healy, with whom they had a successful but inequitable relationship.

Youngest son Jerome (Curly) loved watching his brothers perform, but it wasn't until the early 1930s, when Shemp decided tc leave to pursue a film career, that he joined brother Moe and Larry in their act, thus launching the Three Stooges. They signed a deal with Columbia and began appearing in shorts that would play before the main feature at movie theatres. It was in these shorts that the Three Stooges worked out their routine and got into a groove. By the late 1930s they were a smash hit, receiving fan mail from all over the world and greeting SRO crowds at their personal appearances.

Curly was forced to retire in 1946 when he suffered a major stroke, which led Shemp to reunite with Moej and Larry after a fifteen-year absence. When Shemp passed away, Joe Besser became the third Stooge, working with them until 1958. By the time television began to bring the Three Stooges into people's homes on a regular basis, "Curly Joe" DeRita had replaced Joe Besser. The Three Stooges left behind a legacy of laughter that includes these seven classic shorts starring Curly, Larry and Moe. Altogether, they made 190 shorts and countless
television appearances, and starred in six feature films. Whether disguised as pirates, children, soldiers or college professors, the genius behind the Three Stooges is always apparent. That is why they remain one of the most popular and best-loved comedy acts of all time, leaving audiences yuck-nyuck-nyucking from one continent to the next.
